The Flyers will be without center Danny Briere on Tuesday against the Penguins because of a groin injury, but he could return on Thursday.
Briere has been sidelined since Dec. 2 with the injury.
"I'm not going to play. I think I probably could, but I don't want to put myself and the team in the same position as to what happened earlier in the season," Briere said.
"If we were short guys, I think I could play," he said, but "after what happened the first two times, you try to make the right decision and not come back too quick and put the team in a bad position again."
