Devils Pepper Hurricanes With Shots, Win 4-1

The Devils put up 39 shots on goal against the Hurricanes on Wednesday night, getting four goals through on goalie Cam Ward for a victory in Game One.
Mike Mottau, Zach Parise and Patrik Elias scored in the first two periods to put New Jersey up 3-0 before Ray Whitney pushed the puck through the net at the 9:22 mark of the third to get Carolina on the board.
Jamie Langenbrunner scored the final goal of the game, giving the Devils a 4-1 over the Hurricanes.
Martin Brodeur stopped eighteen shots, for a 94.7% save percentage.
Game Two of the series will be Friday night in New Jersey.
