Toskala Gets Same Surgery From Same Doctor As A-Rod

RealGM Staff Report - The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Tuesday that Vesa Toskala underwent surgery last evening to repair a labrum tear in his hip. The procedure was performed by Dr. Marc Philippon at the Vail Valley Surgery Center in Vail, Colorado last evening. Toskala's rehabilitation time is expected to be 12 weeks.

The team also disclosed that defenseman Mike Van Ryn sustained a medial collateral ligament tear in his left knee during the first period of the game against Edmonton on March 7. The injury does not require surgery and his recovery time is expected to be 10 weeks. Jonas Frogren was also injured during the first period against Edmonton on Saturday. He suffered a sprain of his medial collateral knee ligament and his expected recovery time is four weeks. [READ]
