Ottawa's Zubov Has Big Plans For '08-09

Ottawa Sun - Senators prospect Ilya Zubov has big goals for the upcoming season, including making it to the NHL, according to Ottawa Sun.

"I feel like I am ready," Zubov, a fourth-round pick back in 2005, said.

After finishing with 15 goals and 23 assists in 74 games with the club's AHL affiliate in Binghamton last season, Zubov, who was called up for one game.

"It was great. I worked out. I lost weight. I fished. I played in golf tournaments. I did all the things that (North Americans) do," Zubov said of his summer. "It was a lot of fun," said a smiling Zubov. "I feel light. I actually feel better. I didn't really work out last year.

"I just sort of did a few things. It was a bad year for me last year and this year I just had to pay attention to things so I just worked out. It was best for me. I hung out with Canadian guys. It really helped me." [READ]
