Crease Call Draws Wings' Ire

The Detroit News - The Red Wings had a goal taken away by the officials in their Game Four loss to the Stars on Wednesday night, according to The Detroit News.

Pavel Datsyuk appeared to score at the 7:34 mark of the second period during a Detroit power play, but the goal was taken away because referees believed Tomas Holmstrom was in the crease.

"He wasn't in the blue, his (butt) wasn't near the cylinder, he didn't touch the goalie," said Wings general manager Ken Holland.

"I've seen it on TV and I'm clearly outside (the crease) -- it was a bad call," said Holmstrom, who also was whistled for goaltender interference in Game 3 in Dallas.

The Stars appear grateful that something finally went their way this series.

"We talked about it this morning: We need a thread of life," Dallas coach Dave Tippett said. "Now we've got a thread of life. The ball's rolling the right way. We'll see what happens." [READ]
