| 17th April, 2008 - 3:02 am | Douglas Benton/RealGM - The Pittsburgh Penguins showed good maturity in coming out strong on Wednesday to close out the Ottawa Senators with a 3-1 Game 4 win. The Penguins will now wait for either the Washington Capitals or the winner of the New Jersey Devils-New York Rangers series.
The Penguins out shot the Senators 30-13 in the first two periods and were +12 for the game. The offense is really clicking right now and in Game 4, 10 of their 34 shots were below the face-off circles. Marian Hossa, Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby combined for 18 shots.
Maybe most importantly though, goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has been excellent, giving up just five goals in four games. On Wednesday, Fleury stopped 21 of 22 shots in Game 4 and, along with stellar play by the defensemen, has made Pittsburgh very tough through the first round. [READ] |
