| 25th March, 2008 - 8:56 pm |  Press Release - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled goaltender Jonathan Boutin from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis, Executive Vice President and General Manager Jay Feaster announced.
Boutin, 6-foot-2, 192 pounds, has played in 34 games with Norfolk this season and posted a 12-15-3 record with a .902 save percentage and a 3.25 goals-against average. He has also recorded two of the team’s three shutouts.
The native of Granby, Quebec, has played in 93 career AHL games with a 29-44-6 record and a 3.24 goals-against average. He was named AHL Goaltender of the Month for December of 2006 after going 5-1-1 with a 1.77 goals-against average and a .942 save percentage with one shutout.
Boutin, 22, made his professional debut during the 2005-06 season with the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL before being recalled to Springfield of the AHL. He was named to the ECHL All-Star Team in his first season. Boutin made 50 saves on 52 shots in his first AHL game on November 5, 2005.
The goaltender played 130 career junior games with Halifax, Prince Edward Island and Quebec of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with a 58-43-7 record and a 3.01 goals-against average.
Boutin was selected by the Lightning in the third-round, 96th overall, at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. [READ] |
