The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned center Ryan Carter to the Portland Pirates, Anaheim?s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). Carter, 24 (8/3/83), has appeared in six regular season contests with the Ducks this season (scoreless). He made his NHL regular season debut on Sept. 30 against the Los Angeles Kings in London, England. The White Bear Lake, Minnesota native has also collected 1-0=1 point with 21 penalty minutes in five games with Portland this season. Signed as a free agent on July 12, 2006, Carter made his professional debut with Portland during the 2006-07 regular season. He earned 16-20=36 points with 85 penalty minutes (PIM) in 76 games with the Pirates, finishing tied for third on the team in goals and tied for fourth in assists and scoring. In addition, Carter appeared in four games with the Ducks during the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including Game Four of the Stanley Cup Finals against Ottawa.
