| 8th October, 2006 - 12:24 pm | Miami Herald - A day after Joe Nieuwendyk helped Florida win its season opener by scoring twice, coach Jacques Martin confirmed Nieuwendyk contemplated retirement at the end of last season.
Luckily for the Panthers, Nieuwendyk didn't spend much time thinking that way.
