The Kings have a host of talented young forwards, and the inevitable selection of Zach Bogosian in the 2008 draft will help improve that blue line. They scored like a fringe playoff team but defended like one of the absolute worst teams in the NHL, which they were with their -0.45 goal differential.
Dean Lombardi has plenty of work left to accomplish but is certainly on the right track because, unlike other bad teams, at least the Kings are youthfully talented.

- Alexander Frolov: 45th, 125, +33%
Frolov scored 12 fewer goals, but finished with eight more assists and had a +/- of 1, which made him one of the few Kings' on the positive side.
- Anze Kopitar: 57th, 112, +300%
Kopitar followed up his 61 point rookie season with a 77 point follow-up, and he doesn't turn 21 until August. He scored 32 goals (up from 20), and his shot percentage rose from 10.4 to 15.9.
He is the first Slovenian to play in the NHL and with his size and skill, he will be one of the best centers in the game for the next decade.
- Jason LaBarbera: 118th, 80, -75%
LaBarbera had a 3.00 GAA and .910 SV%, and his rank here and poor Reina Value says as much about the Kings' poor blue line than it does about him.
- Dustin Brown: 134th, 71, +326%
The right winger nearly doubled his previous career high in goals (17 to 33) as his shot percentage rose from 8.7 to 15.1. He also had four game-winning goals and was good on the penalty kill while his +/- improved from -21 to -13.
- Lubomir Visnovsky: 180th, 57, -60%
Visnovsky had an atrocious -18, his first negative season since his -5 in 01-02. He had 67 points in 05-06 and 58 points in 06-07 but finished with just eight goals and 33 assists this season as his shot percentage dropped from 11% each of the past two years to just 5.2%.
He also was a horrible value, making $5.25 million but 'deserving' just $2.1 million.
- Patrick O'Sullivan: 205th, 48, -22%
O'Sullivan is another talented young forward who had 52 points (22 goals/31 assists). He also was extremely clutch, scoring two game-winning goals and exceeded expectations all around.
- Tom Preissing: 26nd, 48, -22%
Coming over to the Kings this season from Ottawa, Preissing's +/- fell from 40 down to -6. He had 14 fewer points as his assist tally decreased from 31 to 16.
- Derek Armstrong: 283rd, 35, -12%
Armstrong had 35 points (8 goals/27 assists) and a +4 in just a little over 13 minutes per game.
- Ladislav Nagy: 296th, 32, +53%
Nagy only appeared in 38 games but still had 26 points.
