In a new feature aimed to warm the heart and numb the mind, Buster Gunning presents “Busters Little Heroes”, tales of local amateur athletes who go above and beyond their sport and achieve greatness, if only for one day. This week’s hero Paul Homenock of Dallas, Texas, is fresh off a four-ringer performance at a Dallas pool party last weekend. A performance that can still be heard whispered around water coolers from Dallas all the way to Fort Worth.

It was sweltering Dallas Sunday afternoon, the location a very meaty pool party located at the Apartments at Jefferson North End. Amidst a record crowd that boasted a pool-party male-to-female ratio of 49-23, one man, one solitary figure, managed to stage one of the greatest finishes in Pool Beanbags history.

For those unfamiliar to the sport of Beanbags, the object of the game is simple yet difficult. Two teams of two battle each other to throw their four beanbags into a hole a specified distance away. The participants alternate throwing bean bags into that hole. The team closest to the hole scores, and if the bag goes in the hole, they get some points for that, as well.

Sporting nothing except a pair of pleated board shorts, size medium for a certain snug comfort, sweat glistened off Paul’s massive shoulders as he posed to make his first throw of the final round. His short-limbed teammate Ryan Canfield could not bear to watch, turning his attention creepily to the unsuspecting ladies swimming in the pool adjacent. With the game knotted at 18, his Red Bull/Vodka-induced buzz fast fading, and the guy-girl ratio dropping by the minute, Paul knew he had to have the throw of his life. And throw he did.

It was then that Paul achieved the impossible. Not one, not two, not three, but four straight ringers, four straight bean bags in the hole! The game was over, the Titan Paul had single-handedly defeated his enemies. His horny opponents stunned, Paul fell to his knees and kissed the gritty tile. Meanwhile, the many spectators howled in celebration, some of them charging Paul to douse the superstar in Red Bull.

“It was as if time just stopped after that last bean bag fell; I couldn’t believe it!” exclaimed a jubilant Paul. “This is the single greatest moment of my life!”

His teammate Ryan Canfield remained in utter disbelief. “I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t see it for myself, and since I did just see it, I believe it.”

One observer known only as John did not seem to be impressed at all. “He thinks he can get away with pleated board shorts at this pool? He must be taking crazy pills. Besides, the color scheme is way off. Not in Dallas, Mister.”

So for this accolade and, hopefully, many accolades to come, Paul Homenock of Dallas, Texas is one of Buster's Little Heroes.
